Please note - most committees have a 2 year commitment.

You will be contacted by the committee chairperson or PTO representative in September.

Plan after school activities for the school.

Help with the art appreciation program in the classroom. A background in art is not needed.

Team focused on keeping Washington school looking its best, both inside and out. Help with painting, planting or any area that will make Washington remain a wonderful place for our children.

Working with students and local law enforcement to ensure safe practices for all students riding bikes to/from school. Grades 3-5

Work with Wyckoff Board of Education for PTO matters concerning Washington School.

Coordinate planning and staffing for book fairs held at the school.

Parents who assist teachers with special classroom activites and coordinate activites that require involvement of Washington Parents.

Team responsible for identifying community service projects for 5th grade Washington students.

Represent Washington School for all PTOs in the district along with representatives from administration, Indian Hills/Ramapo High Schools and the Economy Shop. Serve as Washington's think tank for cirriculum, local, state and national education issues and more. Sponsor voter registration and absentee ballot campaigns. Meetings occur 3 times per year and are open to the general public.

Coordinate and manage the sale of pavers for the outdoor patio at Washington. Pavers can be personalized by parents as a special tribute.

Research, coordinate and attend school assemblies. Ensure that assemblies meet budget guidelines and are approved by the Principal and PTO president.

Coordinates volunteers and donations for district Economy Shop. Promotes awareness of the shop and works with other district schools as needed. The Economy Shop is a consignment and resale shop managed and operated on a volunteer basis by members of the Wyckoff PTO,Ramapo APTS, Indian Hills PTSO and local community. Additional volunteers are always needed to staff the shop. This will be the 61st year of community service for the shop! Main responsibility is making reminder phone calls for volunteers scheduled to work at the shop.

Work with Eisenhower administration to report matters pertinent to 5th grade students. Communicate items to Washington PTO at monthly meetings and provide information as provided.

New Position; need 1 additional chair and volunteers. Committee initiates environmental efforts and helps to educate on environmentally friendly ideas and practices.

Coordinators of PTO sponsored BINGO fund raiser.

Team of volunteers that focus on fundraising for the 5th grade student body. Available for parents of 5th grade students only.

Team which helps compile yearbook for 5th grade students. Students of 5th grade parents are preferred.

Volunteers prepare meals for Washington families under certain circumstances.

Annual fall event where there are season themed games and treats.

Coordinate a night out for Washington students to go the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ for a hockey game.

Plan and manage products to be sold as a PTO fundraiser for December holidays. Coordinate staffing,class schedules and raise awareness to students and parents of this fun shopping event.

Plan and coordinate all phases of the KidStuff coupon book sales. Distribute materials to students, collect forms and payments and distribute purchased items at the close of the promotion. Manage online weborders and track funds received from online purchases outside of the promotional sale period. Preview information about the program here

Help in the Media Center during your child's class. Responsibilities include checking books in and out and shelving and sorting books.

New position for 2011-12

This team will plan and coordinate after-school activities arranged to cover the hourse between 1:10 and 3:15 on 3 to 4 minimum days per year.

Coordinate artwork drawn by students for purchase on high-quality note cards. Manage communications associated to the sale, collect funds and distribute goods once received.

Plan and coordinate an evening out for Washington parents

Determine types of plants to be sold as fundraiser for the PTO. Coordinate order forms, collect payments and staff volunteers to disperse plants in time for Mother's Day.

New for the 2012-2013 school year. This team will help on the playground rennovation project.

Validate all press materials for the school, provide approved material to local papers/magazines for print, ensure confidentiality requests are respected for students who wish to be excluded from media productions. Partner with website coordinator for any posted photos with children.

Plan, coordinate and act as liaison in promoting love of reading to students through this pledge drive benefiting the PTO.

This team gathers up the standardized teacher supply list by grade and compiles boxes of supplies purchased by parents. Each student gets a box specific to their grade if their parent purchases one. Distribution of supply boxes will be in early June. Available for students in grades 1 through 5.

Coordinate Science event for the school with student participation.

Work with food vendor to ensure ordering process is working as planned. Set deadlines and planning for pizza and lunch options. Collect payments for food throughout the school year and ensure volunteers are available to receive & disperse food on special lunch days.

Please make sure you review the choices below and select the best date for you. We rely on volunteer availability to successfully distribute lunches in the time slot for each grade. 

Coordinate spelling bee for grades 1-5 and gather volunteers to assist with testing the students.

Dinner fundraiser for all Washington ladies. Volunteers can assist with ticket shifts, selling raffles, moving raffle baskets or donation solicitation. This is Washington's biggest fundraiser for the school year.

Event managed by the 5th grade representatives as a fundraiser for the class of 2013. Parent volunteers from the 5th grade population should volunteer to assist with this event.

Collect and organize summer reading logs from students. Award prizes for students who achieved the 930 minute per month goal for reading throughout the summer.

Determine theme for school year, recruit volunteers to transform Washington school to match the theme for one day. This event is a big hit with the students and volunteers are always needed.

This committee organizes a day where all students are encouraged to walk to school. Walk, run, jog, bike, blade, scooter or hop your way to Washington school.

Determine Washington apparel to be sold, coordinate orders, collect payments, and prepare volunteers to sort and hand out purchased products.

Update all online tools for the PTO, work closely with other committee chairs to ensure information for special events is properly represented. Maintain calendars, photos, e-commerce, directory information and Friday folder content. Assist with any medium where web tools can be used to heighten communication with parents and students.

The Wyckoff Education Foundation is a non profit fundraising organization that was established to identify special needs for the school system. The Foundation is comprised of Wyckoff residents who volunteer their time and effort to achieve fundraising goals.There are monthly meetings and several annual fundraisers which will be communicated in the future.
